  Welcome to Black History Month Once again CIA is very proud to sponsor activities to celebrate this historic month:

We will have several activities throughout the month such as:

-A poster contest:   West high students will use their creativity and imaginations in designing a poster that helps them reach back in time to consider famous African Americans and events.  Entries are due to Mrs. Meder, CIA sponsor by Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017.   Winners will be recognized at the Black History Month Celebration.

-Black History Month Party:  Tuesday. Feb. 14th, after-school.  Special Presentation:  Seniors: Adonia Kouadio-President of the Black History Month Committee 2017.  We will have food and refreshments for everyone.

-First Annual Black History Month Celebration:  The program will include-dances from traditional African dance, portrayals of significant African American figures, poetry reading, retelling of important events in civil rights history, a students’-made video that captures the diversity of the lives of West High School students body-faculty-staff and musical performances. This event will be held in the West High School Auditorium on Thursday Feb. 24th

-Fundraiser- to the West High Food Pantry.
